Redgum Book a conversation

Before you decide what to build, look at the full picture.

A structured way to see your organisation's complete opportunity landscape: what you could do better, differently, and what you could build that doesn't exist yet.

What it is

Most builds start by asking what's the biggest problem right now? The right first question is what could this organisation become? The mapper explores three kinds of opportunity: Horizon One: Scale Up (do what you do, better: the amber/red steps on your map); Horizon Two: Scale Out (apply what you know somewhere new: a segment, geography, or delivery model); Horizon Three: Blue Ocean (build something that doesn't exist yet and changes the basis of competition).

Why it matters

It's easy to build a first phase that solves today's problem but closes the door on tomorrow's ambition. The mapper ensures whatever you build first is consistent with where you want to end up: a Horizon One start that also lays the foundation for your Horizon Three ambition is worth far more.

How to use it

After the Business Landscape Map. Two or three people who understand operations, customers and commercial strategy: a leadership conversation, not an operational one. 60 to 90 minutes. You'll produce a mapped opportunity landscape across all three horizons and a sense of which Horizon One starting point opens the door to your biggest long-term opportunity.
