Case Study: Pathfinder Competition Analyser

Short form

A competition analyser that turns raw market data into clear, presentation-ready insight, so a growing retail chain could choose locations and ranges with confidence.

The challenge

A rapidly growing retail chain wanted to expand into new locations. That meant understanding demographics, customer behaviour and the competitive landscape in each area, and doing it fast enough to act on.

What we built

Pathfinder's Competition Analyser analyses factors such as demographics, customer behaviour and competitive landscape to uncover market insight, then automates the production of that research into visually compelling presentations. Working closely with the client, we used it to turn their goals and data into actionable recommendations for where and how to expand.

The outcome

The client gained a detailed understanding of potential store locations and could identify prime areas that matched their target market and had a favourable competitive environment. They tailored their range location by location, using real preferences and buying patterns to optimise inventory. Because the analyser did the heavy lifting, analysts spent their time interpreting insight rather than assembling it, and the business made data-driven decisions with a genuine competitive edge.
