Case Study: GigSuper Integration to ANZ

Short form

The banking side of GigSuper's onboarding: connecting the app to established financial systems so members' accounts could be set up and funded without GigSuper rebuilding that machinery itself.

The challenge

GigSuper wanted to give self-employed people better retirement outcomes without the funding to build an entire superannuation and banking back end. The parts that make an account real, setting it up and moving money into it, had to be reliable and could not be reinvented from scratch.

What we built

We connected the GigSuper app to established administration and banking systems, mapping the customer experience GigSuper wanted into a set of APIs. This let members set up and fund accounts through the app while the underlying processing stayed with providers already built to handle it.

The outcome

GigSuper could stand up a working product quickly and cheaply by leveraging a third party's operations rather than duplicating them, and the provider gained a new channel without extra investment. For members, the account setup that usually sits behind confusing paperwork became part of a smooth in-app flow.
